The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating nursing care, which includes direct patient care, patient and family education, and care transitions. The RN will support professional nursing practice across various settings and throughout the care continuum to meet the needs of both patients and their families. This role will align with the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, ensuring accountability for the planning, implementation, evaluation, and communication of nursing care for assigned patients. The RN will be guided by the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice. Leadership responsibilities may include mentoring, taking on informal leadership roles, and participating in quality improvement efforts. The RN will delegate care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, resource availability, and fiscal accountability. Excellent communication, mentoring, and teaching skills are essential, and you may participate in committees or projects. Some employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle as part of their role.
This position is eligible for TN sponsorship. Candidates with F1 status who are eligible for post-completion OPT are welcome to apply. Note that this role is not eligible for the F-1 STEM OPT extension program. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of VisaScreen or an equivalent certification.
Graduate or current student of an accredited associate or diploma nursing program recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). If the nursing program was not accredited by one of these bodies, at least one year of RN experience in a relevant care setting is required.
For entry-level associate degree RNs with a start date of April 1, 2020, or later, you must provide documentation of completion of a baccalaureate nursing degree from an accredited program within five years from your RN start date.
For RNs with a start date before April 1, 2020, you must provide documentation of completing a baccalaureate nursing degree from an accredited program as per the degree requirement at the time of hire.
Exemption Status: Nonexempt
Minimum hourly rate: $34.63
