Manufacturing Engineer – Exciter Manufacturing

A Glimpse of Your Day:

As a key member of the team, you’ll lead the development of innovative and efficient methods to refurbish Siemens’ fleet of brushless exciters while also supporting the production of new equipment for North America’s evolving needs. You’ll spend time on the shop floor, ensuring operators have the tools and equipment they need to succeed, and when necessary, you’ll take a hands-on approach to meet production demands.

How You’ll Contribute:

Clearly define and communicate manufacturing processes to the shop floor through technical instructions, GMSs, and other resources.

Design and implement product-specific manufacturing processes using sound engineering principles while providing technical guidance and training to engineers, operators, and technicians.

Collaborate with order engineering teams to understand requirements, optimize product designs for manufacturability, and address process deviations (non-conformances).

Demonstrate strong commitment to customer service, meeting Siemens Energy’s expectations.

Drive and participate in continuous improvement and lean initiatives to meet operational excellence goals.

Use SAP to extract important information, such as quality notifications, drawing retrieval, material status, and more.

What You Bring:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience: 7+ years of experience providing technical oversight in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the power generation industry.
• Prior experience with brushless excitation manufacturing and its terminology is a plus.
• Expertise in interpreting product and manufacturing drawings.
• Strong collaboration skills in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Familiarity with SAP and Microsoft Office software.
