Propulsion Systems Calibration Engineer – Ford EVDD

What You’ll Do

Step into an exciting role where you’ll shape cutting-edge propulsion tech for Ford’s conventional, hybrid, and electric vehicles. As a Propulsion Systems Calibration Engineer, you’ll:

• Fine-tune control strategies to boost range, fuel efficiency, drivability, performance, and emissions.
• Hit the road for on-vehicle testing and refine systems on the dyno, including test trips.
• Troubleshoot hardware, controls, calibration, or instrumentation hiccups as they pop up.
• Design test plans to validate systems under tough conditions for rock-solid results.
• Dig into test data and offer smart, data-backed ideas to level up performance.
• Blend CAE tools into calibration to streamline design validation.
• Tap connected data analytics to make propulsion systems sharper and tougher.
• Team up with Research, Advanced Engineering, and Product Development to bring tech to production.

What You Bring

Must-Haves:

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
• 2+ years tinkering with powertrain calibration—think fuel economy, drivability, or emissions.
• 1+ year working with hybrid or fully electric powertrain controls.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Master’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Hands-on calibration experience with electrified vehicles.
• Deep knowledge of propulsion systems and how they play together.
• Skills with CAN tools (Vector, DSpace) and analysis software (Matlab, ATI Vision).
• Team spirit, great communication, and the drive to juggle tasks solo.

• Salary Grade: GSR 6-8 (base range: $150,000-$250,000, varies by experience/location—ask your recruiter!).
