SUMMARY
Mortenson is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead and manage projects with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, and a knack for solving complex problems creatively. This role involves providing leadership on project quality, safety, and timeliness while mentoring the project team. The Project Manager will build and enhance customer relationships by ensuring excellent service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the financial health of projects, ensuring cost management and adherence to budget.
• Support or lead negotiations of EPC contracts with clients, including assembling technical documents, defining scope of work, and aligning schedules with contractual requirements.
• Lead vendor procurement, managing the bid/award phase for major subcontractors and suppliers, including RFP creation, vendor solicitation, technical scoping, risk assessment, and contract negotiations.
• Develop and maintain financial and equipment projections for the project.
• Manage and approve project estimates in the financial system, including cost code allocation and invoice approvals.
• Ensure timely payments by providing financials and billings to the Accounting department.
• Create and manage monthly owner billings.
• Supervise subcontracts, suppliers, and trade partners, ensuring the budget is maintained.
• Oversee contract management, including buyouts and billings.
• Supervise Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, providing career development support and feedback.
• Approve timecards for the on-site team and provide ongoing performance feedback.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the owner and on-site representatives.
• Assist in reviewing the owner agreement and resolving any site-related concerns.
• Manage and submit change orders as needed, ensuring the project remains on schedule and within budget.
• Ensure quality, safety, risk management, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• At least six years of relevant experience.
• Proven track record in managing complex projects and tasks with strong attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of construction law and business practices.
• Preferred experience in commercial construction, renewable energy, EPC contracting, or emerging technologies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, project management software, and relevant web applications.
• Demonstrated positive attitude, customer service skills, and ability to interpret and communicate company policies.
• A valid driver’s license.

Base Pay Range: $110,700 – $166,100 (specific ranges may vary by location)
