Your Day in This Role

Siemens Energy’s Alpharetta Electrical Engineering division is searching for an Electrical Engineer with a strong background in power electronics, power generation, and power transmission. If you have hands-on experience or have studied these areas, we’d love to hear from you.

As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll lead the design and application of critical systems including Excitation Systems, Starting Frequency Converters, and Protection Systems. From concept to completion, you will be a key player in ensuring the success of power generation applications.

How You’ll Contribute

Take the lead in projects, ensuring timely delivery of turnover documents and other critical milestones.

Work closely with both internal and external customers and engineers from different disciplines to ensure successful project completion.

Travel to power-generating facilities as needed to gather data on existing systems.

Provide expert guidance and assistance to customers regarding various excitation equipment.

Support your fellow engineers with training and crucial technical support.

Participate in diverse tasks within the development team, gaining exposure to multiple aspects of the business.

Serve as the subject matter expert for the Hotline Team, addressing related technical inquiries.

What You Bring to the Table

A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience, with coursework or industry experience in power transmission, power generation, or electrical machines.

At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within power generation, oil refinery, or similar industrial sectors.

Proven ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results on time.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to tackle complex challenges.

Willingness to travel at least 30% of the time.

Legal Requirement: Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employer-sponsored work authorization. Current Siemens Energy employees on visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

The Gas Services division at Siemens Energy focuses on low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization initiatives. We offer a range of services including the modernization and digitalization of gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators, with a strong emphasis on decarbonization.
