Position Overview

Join the team at North Shore Preserve, a unique private community located on the stunning island of Kaua’i, Hawaii. Discovery Land Company is currently seeking seasonal, full-time Servers to join the Food and Beverage Service Department. The seasonal employment period runs from March 15th – December 15th, 2025. H2B Visa Sponsorships (in-country extensions) are available for eligible candidates.

As a Server, your role will be to contribute to an exceptional dining experience for our members and guests. You will provide top-notch customer service, demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the menu, and pay attention to every detail to enhance the dining experience. You’ll also help create the signature Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer exceptional service to members, guests, and colleagues, maintaining excellent communication at all times.
• Greet guests and members with warmth and promptness, anticipating their needs to ensure an outstanding experience.
• Respond to all guest/member requests swiftly and attentively.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparations, and specials; offer thoughtful recommendations based on guest preferences, special requests, or dietary restrictions.
• Have a thorough understanding of cocktails, wines, beer, and other beverages, and provide expert pairing suggestions.
• Accurately enter transactions into the POS system, issue checks, and complete sales in a timely manner.
• Be mindful of food allergies and dietary restrictions, ensuring all orders are correct and prepared to specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in your work area, stock items as needed, and follow food safety standards.
• Ensure the restaurant’s appearance is consistent throughout the day.
• Complete daily opening and closing duties in line with the department’s standard operating procedures.
• Assist with inventory and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly to the Restaurant Manager.
• Properly maintain equipment and ensure it is handled safely and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with all government, safety, health, and security regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least six (6) months of food and beverage server experience in a fine dining or high-volume setting, ideally within a private club, hotel, or resort.
• Knowledge of HACCP and local food safety standards; or the ability to obtain a State Food Safety Certificate.
• Strong knowledge of wines and beverages.
• Exceptional attention to detail, quality, and service.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

H2B Visa Sponsorship: Seeking candidates currently in the U.S. on an active H-2B visa, looking for an extension for the upcoming season.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with the possibility of long hours due to business demands.
• Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
• Capable of remaining calm and focused during busy periods.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of the position, including standing, walking, and moving for extended periods (more than eight hours), and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Comfort working in both indoor and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly pay range: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour
