Manager, Reporting & Technical Accounting

Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manager, Reporting & Technical Accounting to lead SEC filings, technical accounting research, financial reporting, system enhancements, and internal controls. This role will ensure compliance with SEC regulations and U.S. GAAP, while driving process improvements and supporting key finance initiatives. The role will focus on enhancing the financial reporting process within the company’s ERP system.

Responsibilities:

SEC Reporting & Compliance:

• Lead the preparation and filing of SEC reports, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K.
• Ensure compliance with XBRL tagging and evolving SEC disclosure requirements.
• Partner with external auditors and legal counsel to address review comments and ensure timely filing.

Technical Accounting & Policy Development:

• Research and document technical accounting issues, providing guidance on complex transactions.
• Monitor and implement new accounting pronouncements applicable to the company.
• Develop and maintain company accounting policies, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Oversee the preparation of financial statements and related disclosures.
• Conduct variance analysis and support financial statement preparation.
• Collaborate with Investor Relations to assist with earnings releases and investor communications.

Financial Systems & Process Improvements:

• Support system enhancements and process automation efforts in the financial reporting function.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Accounting teams to ensure seamless integration of financial data into the ERP system.
• Assist in optimizing financial workflows and reporting within the ERP environment.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

• Develop and maintain internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting.
• Act as a liaison with external auditors, ensuring timely resolution of technical accounting issues and financial statement reviews.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong focus on SEC reporting and technical accounting.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and financial reporting software.
• Strong ability to research and document complex technical accounting issues.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a collaborative approach.

Preferred:

• 3+ years of experience with Big 4 public accounting.
• Experience in the technology, autonomous vehicle, or logistics industry.
• Prior experience with IPO processes or in a public company environment.
• Familiarity with XBRL tagging and financial statement preparation tools.
