Our Electric Vehicles, Digital and Design (EVDD) organization leads Ford’s mission to create a fully electric transportation future. What You’ll Do
- Partner with architects, engineers, designers, and technical experts to design embedded software solutions.
- Develop new software modules in modern programming languages like C, C++, or similar, using IP, Ethernet, CAN, and LIN protocols.
- Build and improve embedded graphical user interfaces (GUIs).
- Create and integrate video streaming solutions into embedded systems.
- Define objectives, scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Develop automated validation processes and ensure thorough code coverage.
- Validate new software modules on prototype vehicle platforms.
- Collaborate with system owners to plan, implement, test, document, and maintain software solutions using established tools and processes.
- Analyze and improve system efficiency, stability, and scalability.
What You’ll Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field—or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in software development, especially in embedded systems.
- Proficiency programming in C or C++.
- Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting embedded systems.
- Familiarity with asynchronous IP communication.
- Understanding of continuous development and modern software processes.
- Strong skills in documentation, writing, and communication.
Even Better If You Have
Experience developing video streaming solutions:
- Knowledge of protocols like RTP and RTSP.
- Familiarity with video encoding/compression (H.265, H.264).
- Automotive software engineering experience.
- Knowledge of automotive Ethernet, CAN, LIN, and current automotive communication standards.
