Job Description
Your Day at a Glance
As part of the Field Service International (FSI) team at Siemens Energy, your work will support a truly global mission. FSI collaborates across international Siemens Energy operations to serve the 50Hz and 60Hz markets, including legacy Westinghouse and nuclear sectors. You’ll be a key link between engineering, procurement, and project teams—ensuring each project aligns with our strategic goals at both global and regional levels.
Each day brings a mix of independent and team-based responsibilities. You’ll manage and prioritise tasks, engage with cross-functional departments—such as in-country partners, DSM, and Engineering—and contribute to complex, high-impact projects across the world.
Your Impact
In this role, you will be stationed at the Siemens Energy Service Headquarters in Orlando, FL, but will travel extensively to customer power plants worldwide. You’ll be responsible for:
- Overseeing the maintenance, repair, and modification of large steam and gas turbine generators and their associated equipment.
- Leading on-site mechanical maintenance teams, ranging from small to large crews (1–30 personnel).
- Implementing and managing jobsite safety procedures and conducting detailed site surveys to inform maintenance planning.
- Preparing comprehensive technical reports outlining job activities and outcomes.
- Reviewing technical documentation—such as schematics and task plans—and mentoring team members throughout project execution.
- Coordinating subcontractor activities and acting as the primary Siemens Energy contact on-site.
- Contributing to the planning, estimation, and resource allocation for customer maintenance proposals.
Please note: Pre-employment requirements include a criminal background check, drug screening, and other relevant assessments.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred; however, equivalent field service experience is acceptable.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience as a Field Service Engineer.
- Strong self-management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and customers.
- Proficiency in schedule and project management tools.
- Full-time international travel availability (100%) is required.
- Previous experience in servicing steam/gas turbines, generators, and related systems is highly desirable.
- You must be legally authorised to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship. (Current Siemens Energy employees with visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfer opportunities.)
