This role involves producing and refining design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects. You will collaborate with the project manager to research, develop, calculate, design, and deliver high-quality results. You’ll apply engineering techniques, procedures, and design standards to projects of varying complexity, leveraging your knowledge to solve design-related challenges. Working closely with the project manager, you’ll ensure the project stays on track, solving problems creatively and maintaining client relationships. Additionally, you’ll contribute to the creation of both conceptual and detailed designs using the latest tools and software. You may also mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and feedback. As a key member of the team, you’ll help ensure the successful delivery of a diverse range of projects for our clients.

What You’ll Do:

• Plan and distribute discipline-specific tasks, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.
• Assist in marketing efforts, including proposal generation.
• Support the development of project scope and level of effort within your discipline.
• Oversee the completeness and accuracy of the project team’s work within the technical discipline, guiding the team toward overall project goals.
• Coordinate with client counterparts and teaming partners for technical aspects of the project at the staff level.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience, or
• Master’s degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or
• PhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience.

Primary Focus Will Include:

• Leading the design of bridges, retaining walls, and other transportation structures for multiple clients in our New Jersey office.
• Developing project design criteria, design calculations, construction details, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Preparing and reviewing design drawings and specifications.
• Managing cost and quality control within your discipline.
• Troubleshooting design and field engineering issues and coordinating schedules.
• Leading a design team to ensure the completeness and accuracy of design efforts.
• Serving as a task lead during the planning and design phases of projects.

What We Prefer:

• Experience in bridge and transportation structure design.
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD and AASHTO Seismic Guide Specifications.
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• 8 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
