Job Opportunity: Project Manager I – Transportation Practice (Baltimore, MD)

HNTB Corporation is seeking a Project Manager I to join our growing Transportation Practice in the Baltimore, Maryland office. Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Manage the full lifecycle of assigned projects, including scope development, technical sections of proposals, procurement documents, and contract negotiations. Ensure successful delivery in line with HNTB’s 4-for-4 performance goals: quality work, on time, within budget, and client satisfaction.
• Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing relationships and ensuring projects meet client expectations and contractual obligations.
• Technical Oversight: Provide high-level technical guidance and manage design-related specifications, calculations, reports, and plans. Coordinate with internal and external teams to address project concerns and solve problems.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project teams, oversee project staffing, and contribute to the development, recruitment, retention, and succession of team members.
• Business Development Support: Collaborate with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to build client relationships and assist with business development efforts for strategic projects. Support proposal development and client presentations for projects in the $1M to $5M range.
• Project Execution: Implement HNTB’s project delivery plan, supervise execution, and ensure adherence to budgets and schedules. Manage scope, fees, and work plans to ensure milestones are met.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 8 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management
• 2 years of task management or Deputy Project Manager experience

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in Engineering
• 10 years of relevant experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland
• Experience with MDOT projects
• Proficiency in MicroStation and OpenRoads
