This position involves producing and modifying design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects. You will work closely with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations, design, and delivery. Using engineering techniques and design criteria, you will address issues and concerns, while ensuring that tasks are completed on schedule. This role requires developing conceptual and detailed designs using current technical tools, programs, and software to support project completion. You may also mentor junior engineering staff, review their work, and provide constructive feedback. As a team member, you will contribute to the successful delivery of projects for a wide range of HNTB’s clients.

What You’ll Do:

• Plan and distribute discipline-specific tasks, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.
• Support marketing efforts, including proposal creation.
• Assist with defining the scope of work and effort levels for projects or assignments.
• Oversee the accuracy and completeness of work within the technical discipline, guiding the team to meet project goals.
• Coordinate technical aspects of the project with client counterparts and project partners.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Perform other assigned duties.

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 6 years of relevant experience, or
• Master’s degree in Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience, or
• PhD in Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience.

What You’ll Bring:

• Knowledge of the impact of decisions on technical design and work planning.
• Ability to coordinate work and design across multiple technical disciplines.
• Capability to produce high-quality deliverables on time, within budget, and within scope.

What We Prefer:

• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• 8 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification (depending on discipline).
