Location: Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, United States

Job Description: This position is a Monday through Friday role, supporting ambulatory cardiology clinics at Lurie Main, Clark/Deming, and Skokie locations. You will provide Relationship-Based Care to patients/families with acute and chronic diseases affecting pediatric and adolescent to young adult populations.

This role also includes outpatient procedural support for sedated echocardiograms, dobutamine cardiac stress MRIs, and more.

Job Duties:

• Perform nursing assessments using various methods and tools.
• Develop and individualize care plans based on family needs and document changes.
• Create teaching plans to meet patient and family learning needs and assess their preferences and motivations.
• Provide nursing care as per procedures and anticipate emergent situations.
• Communicate with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team regarding healthcare needs and changes in patient status.
• Stay current in nursing practices and incorporate quality initiatives into daily tasks.
• Adhere to hospital standards for communication, service excellence, and professionalism.
• Work cooperatively as part of a team to meet unit/hospital goals.
• Continuously seek opportunities to advance nursing practice and professional development.
• Comply with service principles focused on innovation, service excellence, and teamwork.
• Demonstrate knowledge of protocols related to chemical disinfection, high-level disinfection, and sterilization when required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher (or an Associate’s degree with equivalent experience for positions identified as difficult to fill).
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Illinois.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Strong communication skills to engage with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
• Special certifications may be required by the department.

Pay Range: $34.50-$56.93 Hourly
