About the Role
We are seeking an innovative and experienced Chef de Cuisine with a specialty in Southeast Asian cuisine to lead the culinary operations at one of our signature restaurants at Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. This is a unique opportunity to shape the culinary identity of a luxury dining concept that blends cultural authenticity with world-class hospitality.
You will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, developing distinctive menu offerings, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences while collaborating with marketing and operational leadership to drive business performance. This role also requires engagement in public relations efforts and the ability to create a standout culinary destination.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary Leadership
- Lead kitchen operations for a specialty Southeast Asian concept within the resort
- Innovate and execute menu items that are culturally authentic and seasonally driven
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency align with luxury standards
- Oversee food preparation, production planning, and kitchen staffing
- Train kitchen staff and educate them on ingredients, preparation methods, and flavors
Restaurant Brand Development
- Partner with the General Manager and Marketing teams to execute marketing and PR strategies
- Represent the restaurant in community and media events
- Contribute to social media and promotional efforts to build brand visibility
Guest Experience
- Interact with guests to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction
- Lead by example to promote a warm, professional, and memorable dining experience
- Empower team members to deliver thoughtful, anticipatory service
Financial & Operational Management
- Manage Profit & Loss for the restaurant and support strategic revenue goals
- Analyze local and global culinary trends to identify business opportunities
- Forecast labor needs and optimize staffing to align with operational demands
Team & Talent Development
- Participate in recruiting, hiring, and mentoring culinary team members
- Provide performance feedback and coaching to promote continuous development
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and respect among staff
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED with 4 years of relevant culinary experience
OR
2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field with 2 years of experience
Required Skills
Expertise in Southeast Asian cuisine and fine dining culinary techniques
Proven leadership in high-volume or luxury kitchen environments
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Business acumen with experience managing budgets and driving profitability
