Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice – Pediatrics (General Pediatrics)

The University of Washington’s Department of Pediatrics, in partnership with Seattle Children’s Hospital, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor (Clinical Practice Track) within the Division of General Pediatrics. This position will begin in Autumn 2025 and is designed for a compassionate clinician-educator dedicated to equitable pediatric care.

Role Summary

The appointed faculty member will:

  • Provide primary clinical care and consultation at the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic (OBCC), a community-focused pediatric hub.
  • Supervise and teach pediatric trainees while leading OBCC’s graduate medical education program.
  • Serve a diverse and often underserved population, including medically complex children from low-income and multilingual families.
  • Deliver care across OBCC’s multiple sites, including its soon-to-reopen Central District location—deeply rooted in Seattle’s Black and immigrant communities.

Appointment Details

  • Position Type: Clinical Practice Track (Non-Tenure)
  • Appointment Length: Initial 3-year term with eligibility for renewal
  • Service Period: 12-month appointment (July–June), with compensation for 11 months and one month of paid time off
  • Salary Range: $144,120 – $216,168 annually (includes compensation from both UW and Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG), depending on experience)

Further compensation may include performance-based incentives through CUMG.

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO (or international equivalent)
  • Board certified/board eligible in General Pediatrics
  • Eligible for Washington State medical licensure
  • Strong communication skills; fluency in an additional language is a plus
