What You’ll Do – Outpatient RN CAP 1

This is your entry into our Clinical Advancement Program (CAP)—a chance to shine as a pro RN! You’ll care for patients with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD), teaming up with a crew that’s all about quality. Here’s the heart of it:

• Assess, plan, and tweak care plans for your patients—using smarts and evidence to guide you.

• Keep a close eye on hemodialysis treatments—tracking data before, during, and after, and adjusting as needed.

• Teach and cheer on patients and families, helping them understand their options (like transplants!).

• Lead with kindness—guiding techs, LPNs, or other RNs when it’s your turn to step up.

• Hand out meds safely, jump in for emergencies, and keep labs on point.

• Team up with docs and staff to make care plans that work—and keep them updated.

• Pitch in on quality projects to make things even better for everyone.

The Day-to-Day

You’ll work under a Supervisor, leaning on Clinical Educators or Preceptors as you grow. It’s hands-on—lifting patients (over 200 lbs. with help!), standing lots, bending, and moving gear up to 30 lbs. You’ll be in a healthcare vibe with moderate noise, some risks (like infections), and safety gear to keep you covered—up to 70% of your shift. Travel to training or other sites might pop up too.

What You Bring

• Education: Bachelor’s in Nursing + a CGFNS Visa Screen Certificate, NCLEX pass letter, or RN license in your work state.

• License: Current RN license where you’ll work + CPR BLS (we’ll help if you’re close!).

• Experience: 9 months as an RN is great (not required), with 3 months in hemodialysis a bonus.

• Skills: A warm way with people—handling chats, tough moments, and teamwork with ease.

• Eyes Open: Pass the Ishihara Color Blindness test (don’t worry, we’ll figure it out if needed).

Lead a Little, Learn a Lot

After 9 months as an RN (including 3 in dialysis) and finishing our training, you’ll guide Patient Care Techs or LPNs as a Team Leader or Nurse in Charge—sharing know-how and lifting the team.

The Tough Stuff

It’s physical—lifting, moving, and stamina are big. You’ll handle machines and solutions, but we keep the pressure light. Mistakes? They happen, but the stakes aren’t sky-high—just keep learning!
